Innovation, growth and impact: the numbers and highlights of OnStage, OnTrac and GradeWork in 2024
Our products – OnStage, OnTrac, and GradeWork – have significantly impacted educational institutions, students, and organizations.
Reflecting on a successful year, we eagerly look forward to 2025. In this blog post, we'll share the highlights of 2024 and provide a glimpse into what lies ahead.
Our year in numbers
2024 was a year of remarkable achievements. OnStage played a central role in practice-based learning, with over 45 educational institutions in the Netherlands and Belgium using the platform for more than 3,200 programs.
Additionally, over 350,000 organizations registered nearly 1 million available vacancies. Almost 225,000 students found an internship or thesis opportunity through OnStage, accounting for approximately 40% of all Dutch students writing a thesis annually.
The digital signature feature in OnStage saved thousands of hours, postage costs, and travel miles. More than 13,000 contracts were signed digitally.
We also achieved impressive results in file management. Over 2 million files were uploaded, with over 800,000 in OnStage and over 1.25 million in GradeWork, totaling more than 33 terabytes of data.
Over 800,000 documents were scanned for plagiarism via OnStage and GradeWork, and nearly 1 million feedback annotations were made during evaluations. Feedback from over 600 users helped us further enhance OnStage's new user interface, with dark mode being the most popular new feature.
Our Integration Messages platform processed over 10 million integration status messages, a key step in optimizing workflows.
OnTrac also saw growth. Logins increased by 5% to 445,465. The number of exam moments rose by 38% to 27,306, with 223,930 candidates scheduled, a 23% increase.
The integration with Remindo played a significant role, with 25% of exam moments and 28% of candidates originating from this integration—representing 71% and 119% increases, respectively.
GradeWork also achieved excellent results. Over 1.25 million files were uploaded for evaluation, resulting in more than 33 terabytes of data.
Examiners added nearly 1 million annotations during assessments and our enhanced plagiarism scanning options and integration messaging service further streamlined processes.
New features in 2024
For OnStage, we released 15 updates with several key improvements. The completely revamped user interface, optimized for mobile use and accessibility, went live after a successful beta test in 2023. We also introduced a Match Simulation Service, making matching students with vacancies faster and more efficient.
Other highlights included integrating exam results into Osiris via our new APIs and allowing external examiners to log in via O365, Google, and LinkedIn with multi-factor authentication. We also improved CRM and vacancy management functionalities, the student user experience, and BPVO processing, focusing on security and user-friendliness.
GradeWork received four updates in 2024, including a new integration messaging service for better process insight and a demo version of our document annotation service, set to go live in 2025. Schools gained more control over the visibility of plagiarism scans, and examiners were given easier access to assessment forms from previous attempts. Additionally, we implemented several improvements in notifications and integrations to ensure a seamless user experience.
For OnTrac, our focus was on implementing OKE integrations. We are proud to have been the first in the Netherlands to showcase a fully functional OKE integration during two successful pilots. This milestone paves the way for future developments.
Plans for 2025
For OnStage, we will continue strengthening our position as a market leader in practice-based learning. GradeWork will expand into new opportunities within the education sector. For both products, we will focus on better integrations with existing procedures and systems and explore new markets beyond our current areas of operation.
OnTrac aims to complete and implement the OKE integrations and connections to Eduarte and TOA. These developments will further enhance our product and better support our clients.
Other updates
In 2024, Xebic became part of Paragin Group. Both develop software for education in the Netherlands and beyond, offering complementary products for vocational schools, universities of applied sciences, universities, and practical education.
This collaboration enables even more vocational education students, teachers, and schools to be supported with online software, ensuring that all attention can be focused on students' personal development. Read more about our products and their successes in 2024 in our group post.
